Canon's consumer/prosumer CR2 bodies don't write shutter count into the file at all — it's only readable live over USB (PTP) directly from the camera, which is out of scope for a file-based tool.

Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm publish a rated shutter durability for most bodies — for the EOS 5D Mark IV, that figure is approximately 150,000 actuations. This is a statistical durability rating from the manufacturer, not a hard limit — many shutters keep working well past it, and some fail earlier.
